Otterbein Church Dominican Republic Trip

A group of 18 from Otterbein Church went to the Dominican Republic in August. Here's a video I put together. The song is Ross King's "Let all the Earth" from his Soulspeak cd.(pick it up if you don't have it- at independant bands.com-link to the right)

New music

I received two new cd's in the mail today from Independantbands.com. Jeff Johnson: Glorious Day and Fike & Dana: the morning is come. Two good cd's. Listening to these cd's you wonder a) why do these people not have a recording contract with a big label and b) why can't the music they play on Christian radio be more like some of the independant stuff that is out there? Independant music is much more honest than the stuff that is put out by the labels. That in and of itself is probably the answer to my questions. The labels would over produce and water them down until they are just another clone of the rest.
Jeff Johnson has some good songs. My favorite: Ruin Me, Glorious Day, So High and He Rose. One of the Better Pop/Worship(maybe a little country) cd's you'll hear.
Fike & Dana cd's cry out with a longing to God that I have not heard in many releases. Pure adoration and honesty to the Father, about our shortcomings and failures, crying out: we are not good enough but you justify us and make us worthy. One touch and you make us whole! Spirit Filled Worship! Awesome stuff! My Favorite: Clean Me. Check out their first Cd: In and Out of Season one of my top Christian Cd's of all time.

My first attempt at a blog! Just got back from a mission trip to Dominican Republic, 18 members of my church family went. Did some work with CURE International, what a great time, I miss hanging out with them already. Anyone else waiting for some good Christian music to arrive? Has been pretty bad as of late....Ross King is coming out with some new stuff beginning of next month, we can start jumping for joy now....Shane & Shane's arrives at the end of the month. Shawn McDonald is out in October...better days are ahead for all of us!
